My Titanium Wedding Band Story...
Hi, if you're about to buy a titanium wedding band, then hopefully my research (and mistakes!) will save you a TON of time and money.First, let me tell you my story...
** How I Lost My First Wedding Band **
I've been married for a little over 8 years now. My wife gave me a really nice gold wedding band when we said "I Do". (it was expensive too)
It was engraved on the inside, comfort fit, yadda yadda yadda - the works.
When I put it on I remember it feeling a little too big but I thought "No problem, I'll just get it sized".
Well you know how that goes. One thing leads to the next and I never got around to doing it.
Anyway we ended up going to a funeral in Pennsylvania in the winter. And...when I get cold, my fingers shrink up for some strange reason.
And, well, you guessed it. I lost the ring somewhere at the burial while sliding my hands in and out of my pockets. Uggh!
** How I Lost My 2nd Wedding Band... **
I went without a ring for a while. But have a lot of company over to our house, and somebody accidentally left their weddding band. After no one claimed it, my wife saved it in our kitchen drawer.
She pulled it out one day, I put it on, and BAM --- it fit! (well, it was just a little too big...)
It was cheap gold and it bent a lot, but I wore that ring for over 5 years.
Now, don't laugh...but I like to do dishes. It's actually somewhat therapeutic for me.
So every time I did the dishes, I would take off the ring and put it on our window sill because the dish soap made it slide off anyway. One evening, while washing dishes, I put the ring on the window sill --- and I haven't seen it since!
** How I Got My THIRD Wedding Band! (TRUE STORY) **
Alright. Here's how I got my current ring and the reason I'm buying a titanium wedding band.
Some friends of ours recently got married, and we went to their wedding reception. You know how they have those napkins rolled up real nice with a metallic-looking plastic ring around it?
Well...I took one off of the napkin. And I tried it on my finger. Need I say any more?? THAT'S been my wedding ring for the last 5 months! I know, it's sad.
Actually, unless you look closely, you can't tell it's a napkin ring. Only problem is, a few women have looked up close and asked me about it - talk about embarassing!
THAT'S why I started looking online for titanium wedding bands.
Why A Titanium Wedding Band?
Why am I choosing a titanium wedding band instead of gold, silver, or platinum? There's a few reasons:
It's MANLY. Doesn't the word "Titanium" sound bulletproof, manly, and loaded with testosterone? Aircraft engine parts are made of titanium. The best golf clubs in the world are made of titanium. Why not a titanium wedding band?
It's STRONG. Titanium is much more durable and stronger than the gold, silver, or platinum alloys many wedding bands are made of. My titanium wedding band will probably be around long after I'm gone. AND, you don't have to worry about it going egg-shaped on you.
The only downside to the strength of titanium is that it's very hard to resize. So get an accurate size of your finger before you buy!
And yes...if you jam your finger playing football or basketball and it swells up, you CAN cut it off (the ring that is; not your finger).
It's CHEAP. Another good reason is cost. Did you know gold prices have almost tripled in the last 5 years? And they're still going up.
I guess that's great if you invest in gold, but it's pretty bad if you need a wedding band. A nice gold or platinum wedding band can run you $250-$1000 in a mall jewelry store. But you can get an awesome titanium wedding band for under $40 if you know where to look. Heck, I got my titanium wedding band for $0.99!
It's SAFE. Titanium is hypoallergenic. It doesn't discolor or irritate skin. That's a big deal for me because I've got a mild case of eczema and my skin gets rashes from gold and silver rings.
It's COMFORTABLE. Titanium is 33% lighter than gold. You don't even know you're wearing the ring!
It's A Cool COLOR. The natural color of titanium is gunmetal grey, but you can get it buffed to a chrome finish (like mine) if you want.
We live by the Atlantic Ocean and so it's good to know that my titanium wedding band won't change colors when I wear it in saltwater.
It Can Be PERSONALIZED. That's not different from gold, silver, or platinum. I actually didn't get mine engraved, but it does have "Titanium" already engraved on the inside.
Titanium wedding bands are the perfect choice for guys. But they're a great choice for women too since the settings tend to hold gemstones better.
Is that enough reasons for you?
Where To Get High-Quality Titanium Wedding Bands For As Low As $0.99!
After scouring the Internet looking for the best deals on titanium wedding bands, I came across a shop on eBay that was selling quality wedding bands.I didn't even know how I found it, because it didn't come up when I searched (luckily I bookmarked the page!)
But when I found it, I saw that the starting bid on the ring was only $0.99! THEN I saw that there was NO RESERVE on the auction.
**Basically a reserve is the minimum amount of money a seller wants for their item.
THEN I saw that the auction was ending in 4 minutes!
I really didn't believe that I would get a $215 ring for $0.99, so I put in a bid of $2.00 just to see what would happen.
4 minutes later, I was the only one who had bid on the ring and the system defaulted to the lowest accepted price (which was $0.99). So I won the auction and got it for $0.99! What a steal!
I STILL didn't believe it was true, so I waited until I got the package in the mail before I told anyone.
When I got the package I was shocked at how nice the ring is.
If you haven't watched it already, go to the top of this page and see me open the actual package from my mailbox with the ring inside
Anyway, here's those bookmarked links where you can go and find your own $0.99 titanium wedding band (if there's any left!) --Good Luck!
